    For an Applause

For this poem (originally a song) I was inspired by a specific group of people. I asked myself some questions about them and the reasons for their behavior. My theory is embedded in the verses.

Let’s see if you can guess what I’m talking about!

    I got a little weakness

    Since I was so little

This little weakness had me in its hands

    My parents didn’t get it

    My teachers couldn’t stop me

I couldn’t stop my self at all

    I got confess

    It’s a disease

    There’s nothing i wouldn’t do

    To get an applause

    Give my our attention

    show me approbation

Set the astonishment in your eyes

    Give me your attention

    show me approbation

Put your hands together just for me

    Give me a sign

    Make understand

    Don’t let me down

    I’m asking for a clap

I need to beat this feeling

that i need to win you over

I wanna take a bit of your love

    It’s a dependence, I have no chance

So let me please you in any way

    It’s a dependence, I have no chance

Let me have a bit of your love

Hi. I don’t think I have this problem but my wife, a really dedicated teacher, does. Surrounded by a disinterested head teacher, an incompetent deputy and a culture of nepotism which keeps the incompetents in post – and to hell with the pupils. So I really feel for it. Many thanks for the ‘like’ for my first effort at a short story. It means a lot.

Nothing wrong with wanting to feel good by pleasing others. We really need more of that!

    LIfe and Death

    Life is…

    My eyes are hurting

My mind is asking why am I still here

I have no answers, just voices at night

    Lost again, not knowing why

    I feel so…

If I could tell the way

You made me feel, my friend

    This world would warm up

Maybe someone would believe in love again

But there’s no one here with me

And I realized I’ve never really been free

As if trapped in so many webs I refused to see

And it’s too cold outside to even think of a change

    Death is…

    Hell is so real

Anything else seems too fine to exist

    All seems so vain

    But judge me not

I need no tag to live in peace

    You’re too…

Just listen to what I need to say

No need to agree with me

You think it’s unfair but that’s ok

‘Cuz you know nothing about life and death

Here’s another page wasted for sorrow

Here’s another year grown in tears

And a silly thought made me cry

And your sweet smile cured my eyes.

Thanks Damagedwing! I wrote it in “darker times” and it was interesting seeing how much things have changed,so much that I modified the ending to a happier one with respect to the original version.

Very wistful and so poignantly written. I love the cut in between some of the thoughts. It gives the poem so much texture with distress.

Very touching. I love poetry and almost live by it. The essence of its nature is remarkable.

    As I Walk Away

Every time I thought I got over you
I find out how wrong I was.
    Every time I saw you
    my feelings reemerged
Though I believed them to be dead.

My thoughts rushed back to the past,
To a happy time that’s not here anymore
Killed by our words and buried by our tears.

    Back to a fantasy place,
    Now destroyed by misunderstandings.
A place where we used to hide,
    Just for you and me.
    Our hands holding each other
The whole world at our finger’s tip
‘Cuz we were each other’s universe.

    And now it’s all gone.
As i walk away, instead of the usual “I love you”,
-As I step over them, walking slowly,
I hear the sound of hushing dead leaves.

Slowly.I’m not afraid anymore,no need to run.
I’ve taken out your memories from my heart.
    Damn, It wasn’t easy.
The sound of 1000 broken mirrors almost tore apart my soul.
    ALMOST.

If I make it, when I’ll make it,
    Maybe I’ll be alone..
But the sweetness of having made it
It’s better than being spoiled by the taste of salty water.
No matter how much it hurts.

    With every new breath
I feel life coming back in me,
A new life waiting to be reached
Not suffocated by your power over me
A new kind of happiness I’m about to achieve
As I slowly walk away from you.
